My name is Cori

Hi, my name is Cori Shearer. I’m 28 years old and I was born and raised in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania—the capital of Pennsylvania. And yeah, I work as a product manager at a company called Quizlet, which is an ed tech learning platform. I live and work in San Francisco, California.

Who were you 13 years ago compared to who you are now?

I still don’t even know who that person was. I didn’t have half the confidence I have now. I honestly didn’t really live with purpose. I didn’t have a ton of direction. I didn’t really have big hopes or dreams for myself or for my future.

“The life that I’m living seems so surreal to me because I never thought I could have it.

What we see around us sometimes becomes our ceiling. And for me I thought I was on this path of limited opportunities. I wasn’t going to be that person that left my small hometown. I didn’t really want or dream for much.

Now the life that I’m living seems so surreal to me because I never thought I could have it. Product management was not something I knew even existed. Even the idea of moving to California and living out here by myself in a city like this feels so surreal.
