Girls in Tech’s Global Classroom is a free online program that teaches design and coding to girls and women. Our mission? To reverse the gender imbalance in technology through education. Global Classroom empowers thousands of women a year to feel confident through education – no matter who they are or where they’re from.
Whether it’s a WordPress website, an iOS app, or even 3D modeling and printing, through Global Classroom students learn technical skills that directly affect their professional development. In 2019, we’ll be focusing on Fusion 360 and Maya. All they need is an internet connection.
Each Global Classroom course is taught by subject matter experts and designed for beginners. (Intermediate bootcamps are conducted in-person at the chapter-level. We encourage you to visit the events page and find a Bootcamp near you!). Courses range from 4-8 weeks and are offered multiple times a year.
The program is designed so students can read, collaborate, discuss, submit assignments and take quizzes each week at their own pace. At the end of the program, students receive a Girls in Tech certificate of achievement (and a digital badge to display on LinkedIn) as well as a portfolio piece to share with friends, family, schools and future employers.
